I see

You, slow like a midnight rainstorm
Deafening with your clean caress
clear past my vigilant conscious
forget what I had to do

for you

renew me
over and again with your coolness
you come unstoppable
I can only run from or be overcome

by you

soft like the first drops
then mighty as the river flows over me
There's nothing ordinary nor easy that you are
none of your days can survive

without you

tasting
everything
taking
everyone

with you

puddles for a child
tea for the sages
a billion years of tears you've cried
down every cheek with eyes like mine

on you go

a trillion tummies satisfied
a million slides you've muddied still
is there wisdom anywhere
getting in

to you?

Spread me across the wild seas
trickle me down mountain meadow
take me with you
one day

you will
