Let the world be your home again

Let the world be your home again
go out in pajamas, polka dot
socks and slippers
wild hair

Four years old you
laugh like you don’t care
at your feet, crunch every dry leaf
return with laughter at everyone’s staring

See no borders
have no cares
of politeness
with your smile
carry lightness
of outside be
unaware
just be bright
this is my prayer
for you, my angel
boy, as you advance
in height and years
